The crash landing does do a good job on what to expect during
a plane crash. I think the actors are believable. I forgot how
snippy Gary Merril gets in this movie. You almost want to hit him

Today’s equivalent–SNAKES ON A PLANE and RED EYE–are not much better, but I like them as metaphors for our fears of being hijackaed by terrorists. At least they didn’t throw the snakes out the window or leave them behind when they crashed.

It was the Hudson, not the Potomac, and is now correct. I think I got it mixed up with the 1982 crash on the Potomac of a Boeing 727 during a snowstorm. That one didn’t end up well. Only 6 survivors out of 79 people.
