Hi Vorky Team,
Thanks so much for reminding me of Slavko Vorkapich's Serbian origins. I hope that you will enjoy the updated videos I have added to this blog, which includes the experimental film that Vorky made in 1941, Moods of the Sea.

It's been a pleasure to keep learning more about this innovative filmmaker.

Thank you so much for this post. Two weeks ago, I was watching works from Unseen Cinema and was blown away by The Life and Death of 9413. Florey I'd heard of, but assumed Vorkapich was a nobody. I'm deeply sorry about how wrong I was. Thank you, thank you, thank you for enlightening me. I'm now making it my next project to seek out and view everything Vorkapich had a hand in.

Your interest in this fascinating if relatively obscure figure behind so many memorable moments in studio era films is very much appreciated. I know that after researching Vorkapich's work, that the upcoming broadcast of The Good Earth on the 22nd of this month will be much more interesting for me! Many thanks for taking the time to post here!

This is fantastic, Moira. I love the montage and special effects sequences you've described, but never really knew anything about Vorkapich. Thanks for a great post.

A wonderful encapsulation and appreciation of an artist's work. I especially like Vorkapich's montage of the suicide of Lowell Sherman in "What Price Hollywood?"
