I love Kay Francis and seeing her movies are a treat. A few years ago I brought a copy of ‘Girls About Town’ and love it hopefully it will be on TCM one day this film is a gem. Also I hope they one day show “Wife Wanted” her last film. Throughout the years I have seen stills from the picture but have longed for the movie to turn up on TCM. To other Francis fans out there let’s rejoice that Kay is not forgotten!

I have recently through the good people at TCM, heard of Kay Francis. It was her birthday and TCM showed her movies all day. She was very beautiful and her clothes were gorgeous!!!! Some of my favorites of her films were My Bill and The Keyhole with George Brent. Thank you for the article.

This is a great find! I’ve enjoyed the over the top antics of Kay Francis for years, but never knew this much about her before. The recent Star of the Month featuring her films on TCM was terrific, especially since it included so many rarely seen 1930s films. Great job, TCM & Moira. I’ll be hoping for a copy of Scott O’Brien’s biography on her for Christmas.

I loved the films that Kay and Ian Hunter starred in together and I was wondering what kind of off screen relationship they had. Were they friends, more than friends, or could they even stand each other?

It’s been a revelation to see so many Kay Francis movies in prime time on TCM this month. I hope that more movies from the 1930s will be added to the evening lineup in the future. Thanks for a great article on her life and work.

Thank you so much for this tribute to Kay Francis. I was not really aware of her work. I am now aware of the work of this great performer during the 30′s and 40′s, an late 20′s of course. At my age I was very was aware of the work of Bette Davis,Joan Crawford,Jean Harlow,Jean Arthur,Carole Lombard,etc. and the life and career of Ms. Francis is a complete delight to have discovered. I am certainly looking forward to your airing of future presentations of her work. Thank you again.
