If You Thought Fred MacMurray Was Cute Before –

– wait until you watch this completely adorable clip from The Dinah Shore Show in December of 1957.   Fred guest stars on Dinah’s variety series, along with MGM musical star Ann Miller, and together they do a three-way version of the Frank Loesser song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” which was introduced in the 1949 MGM musical Neptune’s Daughter.  In the movie the jaunty and romantic tune was sung first by Ricardo Montalban and Esther Williams, and then by Betty Garrett and Red Skelton, but I think you’ll fall in love with this hilarious rendering.  It even has a teeny spot of spontaneous laughter, which makes it even funnier.

Fred makes a good straight man in a comedy act and for live television – I assume it was recorded live – he looks like he could wing it with the best of them. I like the bondage finish to this.

He doesn’t seem to unhappy to be tied up, does he? :-)

That should be “too” unhappy, sorry about that!

Looked fine to me. I thought it was cute and enjoyable. He was such a diversified actor. He could play any part.
