You didn't list SEVEN MEN FROM NOW, one of my faves. SHACK OUT ON 101 is insane and should be required viewing for everyone. It would make a good double feature with I MARRIED A COMMUNIST. And I don't think there is anything finer than Marvin's performance in SHIP OF FOOLS, particularly his scenes with Michael Dunn. The scene where Vivien Leigh beats him savagely with her shoe is also up there in the hall of classic movie scenes.

In the DVD " The Killers" 1964. Marvin,s co star , Clu Gulager talks about working with Lee Marvin and what it was like on the set.Marvin actually was hammered when he made his death scene out in front of that house.IN addition, Gulager credits Marvin for letting him do his "thing" and allowing him to "steal" a few scenes. Holding Angie Dickinson out that window was fun..and Gulager talks about other scenes with Claude Akins and Ron Raegan Overall a good experience and Marvin was as sadistic as Vince Stone in " The Big Heat"

Lee Marvin was an excellent actor.  He once explained, I believe to Johnny Carson how he got revved up for a scene where he is supposed to be menancing.  It went something like this.  I need a plummer.  My sink is backed up, and water is coming up every place.  Call plummer, and no plummer.  Mildly irritated.  "Where is that Plummer?"  An hour goes by and no plummer.  " Where in the Hell is this guy, I am going to kill this plummer if he ever gets here!" It was quite amusing at the time.
