What a terrific sounding theater. Somebody's Cinema Paridiso.Having enjoyed some wonderful theaters, and having worked in a few, I remember them in my prayers and buy lottery tickets every once in awhile. Here in Minneapolis we have the gorgeous art deco Suburban World with clouds and stars floating across the baby blue ceiling, no longer in use (in any practical sense), and the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown (by the U of M) is some goofy performance space.I remember being one of three people watching "2001: A Space Odyssey" in a theater in Bloomington, Minnesota that was turned into a real estate office nearly twenty years ago already. Used tosee movies at Studio 98 on 98th and Lyndale (now a mini-mall). I remember seeing a double bill of The Apartment and Irma Ladouce for .99 cents. As well, the Lensic Theater in Santa Fe has been turned into an "arts" center, which Santa Fe needs like the ocean needs salt.
